This week we had the opportunity to celebrate our newest class of Youth Leadership St. Louis graduates as they concluded their 2023-24 program year.
This year’s graduates also received a special surprise at the celebration. The University of Missouri-St. Louis generously offered each 2023-24 Youth Leadership St. Louis graduate a four-year academic scholarship, up to $5,250 annually.
“We have been grateful for UMSL’s support of this year’s program through hosting the opening retreat and graduation celebration,” says FOCUS President & CEO Dr. Yemi Akande-Bartsch. “Their generous scholarship offer is an amazing opportunity for these student leaders as they begin planning for their future.”
This year’s cohort explored a variety of topics and regional issues, including diversity and inclusion, health and wellness, economic development, housing and STEM in our region, all while building valuable leadership skills in critical thinking, group facilitation, problem-solving, teamwork and public speaking.
