What prompted you to apply for a FOCUS program? FOCUS has a longstanding reputation of producing quality professional learning experiences and opportunities for leaders. When reading the objectives of Women In Leadership and Leadership St. Louis and the testimonials of graduates, I quickly knew FOCUS would enhance my leadership skills as an advocate for the community and leader in education.
What impact has your FOCUS experience had on your life? The impact FOCUS has had on my life is paramount. FOCUS aided me in becoming a stronger advocate for uplifting our community. It has made me fight for equitable compensation for women and use my platform as a means to recognize other phenomenal women leaders in our region.
What advice would you give to FOCUS leadership program participants? Come prepared to listen, learn and participate in some of the most engaging conversations and content specific to our community and region.
In what ways have you stayed involved with FOCUS following graduation? As a member of FOCUS, you are provided real-time job and board opportunities, along with regular opportunities to engage with other regional leaders on topics that matter, such as equity, education and politics. I remain engaged by participating in alumni dinners, attending local events and supporting my WIL and LSL classmates in philanthropic and community enhancement ways.
