In an increasingly digital world, the importance of physical spaces that foster community interaction and connectedness — often referred to as “Third Places”— cannot be overstated. Third Places, such as parks, museums, and public spaces, serve as vital hubs where individuals from diverse backgrounds can come together, share experiences, and build stronger, more cohesive communities.
In this forum, we’re bringing together thought leaders and practitioners from key St. Louis institutions to explore how these spaces play a critical role in bridging communities, fostering social interaction, and enriching the overall quality of life.
Our panel will feature:
- Moderator: Harlan Hodge, Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis (Youth Leadership St. Louis 1991)
- Ronke Faleti, CEO, Korédé House (Emerging Leaders 2015)
- Emma Klues, Vice President of Communications & Outreach, Great Rivers Greenway (Leadership St. Louis 2017)
- Kristen Sorth, Director & CEO, St. Louis County Library (Women In Leadership 2013 / Leadership St. Louis 2014)
- Jody Sowell, Ph.D., President & CEO, Missouri Historical Society (FOCUS Board Member)
This session is free and open to all.
