FOCUS BoardBridge FAQs
For Candidates
This program is a great opportunity to connect with new board service opportunities!
FOCUS BoardBridge will connect you with 3-4 organizations that are looking for potential candidates like yourself. We'll take into consideration your interests, experience and availability, as well as the needs of the nonprofits.
To date, we've had more than 150 successful matches through the program, and that list continues to grow!
Step 1: Complete the application.
Step 2: If you're new to BoardBridge, you will need to participate in the required orientation. This virtual session will go into greater detail on the process, as well as cover best practices for selecting and serving on a board.
Step 3: We'll get to work matching candidates and nonprofits. You can expect to receive 3-4 matches, taking into consideration your interests, experience and availability as well as the needs of the nonprofits. Once matched, you'll be provided with a copy of their applications as well to review.
Step 4: Begin connecting. Nonprofits are expected to make the initial outreach, usually to set up an initial meeting by phone, Zoom or in-person. Not every match will be a fit, and that's ok. There's no obligation to join any board - the goal is to make connections that may ultimately lead to a mutual fit.
