In June, we welcomed Láel Gray, a rising sophomore at Lutheran North, as our Youth Leadership St. Louis intern. A quick learner and helpful addition to the team, she pitched in to compile and analyze program evaluations and organize materials for the coming year.
Láel is a rising sophomore at Lutheran High School North. During the school year, she plays volleyball and basketball and is involved in the Concentus choir at her school. She enjoys writing and theater, and participated in Honors English. She got a behind-the-scenes look at the LHSN production of “Little Shop of Horrors” as a crew member and recently was cast in “Midsummer Night’s Dream” at DaySpring Arts & Education. After high school, she plans to go to college and study veterinary medicine and marine biology. She enjoyed her time learning and engaging at FOCUS St. Louis, and we were thrilled to have her. Thanks Láel!
FOCUS also recently hosted the 2018 Bank of America Student Leaders for a morning of professional development and leadership training. The St. Louis Student Leaders, who are placed in nonprofit internships across the region, had the opportunity to meet with FOCUS Program Director Shalia Ford for valuable career coaching. Thanks to Bank of America for again providing us with this opportunity to work with these talented young leaders!
